THE MOSS COLLECTION
A patch of moss perched on a drystone wall, its flower stalks lit up in the sunlight was the starting point for this collection of pieces. I wanted to capture the density and softness of cushion, and then the fragility and light of the blooms, one giving life to the other, the tactility of both.
Other moss experiences -walking through dripping woods and dreams where moss was mysteriously growing, covering everything in sight- led me to experiment with other forms... How curved can a surface be to take the technique? How can I combine it with other moving elements? Always seeking the 'and' rather than the 'either/or'. And so this process has evolved, becoming a signature to be found often amongst my other pieces and collections.
Moss is an ongoing collection, watch out for new pieces.
